Colorado Consortium for the FAA UAS Test Facilities

  • This panel will describe the FAA/DoD initiative to integrate UASs into the national airspace system and Colorado’s intention to have one of the six FAA test sites located in Colorado. The panel will discuss the efforts of the “One Colorado UAS Team” to build a dynamic, comprehensive, and enduring test range for both company and federal agency use. Unmanned vehicles, once integrated into the national airspace system, will support a wide range of national and local missions such as law enforcement, search and rescue, crop and weather monitoring, geological research, and more. Sensor and UAS companies should expect quick growth into a wide range of domestic commercial endeavors once the FAA generates and implements a range of safe UAS operations procedures and regulations.
